Arsenal keen on signing Jesper Lindstrom?

Arsenal have reportedly set their sights on a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Jesper Lindstrom.

The Gunners are currently enjoying their best season in two decades, as they sit eight points clear at the top of the Premier League standings. This achievement has come despite the absence of forward Gabriel Jesus, who missed a significant portion of the season due to a knee injury sustained at the World Cup.

Now that the Brazilian has recovered and proven his fitness, he is expected to regain a regular spot in the middle of the attack. However, Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta cannot rely on a wide range of options in the final third, as he has also been without Emile Smith Rowe for much of the season.

There are doubts about whether Reiss Nelson will eventually sign a new contract with the North Londoners, while summer signing Marquinhos is likely to be sent on loan again.

According to SPORT1, Arsenal may be able to resolve their attacking issues by making an improved bid to sign Lindstrom, who has been a regular in the Frankfurt team this season, contributing eight goals and four assists in the Bundesliga and Champions League.

His impressive performances also earned him two starts for Denmark during the recent World Cup, although his team failed to progress beyond the group stage.

Despite having more than three years remaining on his contract, Frankfurt may be willing to sell the 23-year-old midfielder for a fee of £26.3m, a figure that has reportedly attracted interest from Arsenal and three other Premier League clubs. However, the Gunners seem to be the most interested in securing Lindstrom’s signature.
