Former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist feels selectors should stick with current top order batsman for the third Ashes Test at Old Trafford.
Aussies already 2-0 down in the Ashes 2013 following defeats to Host side at both Trent Bridge and Lords, and the blame has been placed on the top order batsman shoulders.
According to the bookiesbets.co.uk prediction, England are still favourites to win the third match of Ashes 2013, but there is still hope for Australia to win this game, they only need a good opening batting partnership to turn the series around.
Gilchrist has admitted the performances of top order batsman has been unacceptable but believes the current batsman in the playing XI should be given an opportunity.
He said: “Probably a bit of stability and a bit of consistency is what’s required – and I suspect that’s what will happen.
“The batting line-up, I suspect, will stay the same and they’ll be given a chance to redeem themselves.
“They’ve just got to get into the game. There were plenty of positives from the first Test but the second Test was pretty demoralising for everyone.?
As reported, David Warner will back into the side following his suspension. However, Gilchrist expects there should not be any changes for this crucial match.
