Brighton have enjoyed some incredible Premier League results this season and they continued their excellent form last weekend when they visited Anfield to play out a 3-3 draw against Liverpool. The Seagulls had just lost their talismanic manager Graham Potter, but it did not hamper their performance against one of the strongest sides in the league. After such an impressive debut for Roberto De Zerbi as the Brighton manager, the Italian will look to outsmart his compatriot Antonio Conte when Tottenham visit the Amex Stadium on Saturday.
Brighton went two goals up within 17 minutes of kickoff at Anfield. The hosts did recover from the shock to make it 3-2 right after the hour mark, but Leandro Trossard completed his hat-trick seven minutes before the clock hit 90 minutes and won a valuable point for his team.
The south coast side now finds themselves fourth in the Premier League, ahead of the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool. Their only defeat, however, came as somewhat of a surprise when they lost to Fulham.
Brighton have enough reason to be confident before taking on the Lillywhites, as they have claimed the full points in two of their last three encounters with Spurs. That side, Tottenham will draw inspiration from their 1-0 win at the Amex Stadium last season.
Tottenham made a fantastic start to their Premier League campaign as they amassed 17 points in their first seven Premier League matches to rise to the third sot. But they will be travelling to Brighton on the back of a demoralising derby defeat against Arsenal. The Gunners were dominant throughout as they raced to a 3-1 win against Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium to keep hold of the top spot. A goalless draw in the Champions League against Eintracht Frankfurt in midweek did little to lift up the spirits in the Tottenham camp.
Brighton don’t have many injury headaches before welcoming Spurs at the Amex Stadium. Jakub Moder will be an absentee again as he works his way back from a lengthy knee injury layoff. Enock Mwepu might miss out as he missed training because of illness. Other than that, De Zerbi has a fit squad at his disposal.
Dejan Kulusevski will not be a part of the travelling squad. Emerson Royal will not be involved as well as he will have to serve a red card suspension. So, Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon should be the wingback pairing for Conte at Brighton.
Brighton have been one of the most in-form sides in the league this season. On the other hand, Tottenham have lost some steam after winning only one of their last four games. But their incredible firepower up front could help them grab a draw against Brighton. We are anticipating a 2-2 draw between the two sides.
