Chelsea have reportedly joined the list of clubs wanting to sign Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos who is on the radar of Manchester United.
The Blues are reportedly interested in signing the Portugal international, following his impressive performance at the FIFA World Cup 2022.
The 21-year-old forward has gained significant attention this season, having scored 25 goals and registered 10 assists 37 matches.
Ramos’ impressive performances this season have made him one of the most sought-after players in the world.
Chelsea are among the clubs interested in Ramos as a potential alternative to Victor Osimhen, whom they have also targeted. While Osimhen’s cost is estimated to be over £100 million, the Portuguese may be available for around £70 million.
The West Londoners have made several signings in recent transfer windows, but their on-field performances hasn’t improved. Chelsea are well aware of their need for a new striker and has identified Ramos as a potential solution.
However, Manchester United are also interested in the Portuguese, having monitored him for some time. United head coach Erik ten Hag recognises sees the youngster as a potential solution to cover Marcus Rashford.
With Anthony Martial’s future at Old Trafford is in doubt and Wout Weghorst set to return to his parent club, signing Ramos could be a smart move for the 20-time English champions.
