Manchester City on the Verge of Signing Michael Noonan

Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly on the verge of signing 16-year-old Irish striker Michael Noonan, who has also attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

According to the renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, City are advancing talks to secure the talented young player, which puts Spurs at a disadvantage in this pursuit.

A native of Dublin, Noonan has been making waves with St. Patrick’s Athletic, where he joined the first team in 2022 from Ballyoulster United. The young forward is known for his sharp movement and ability to find space, which has resulted in an impressive tally of three goals and one assist in just five appearances for the club.

Tottenham’s interest in Noonan stems from their strong youth academy, despite a lower graduation rate to the first team. They recently offered him a trial, but City’s world-class academy—home to talents like Phil Foden—looks set to add Noonan to its ranks. With his move to Manchester City imminent, he aims to become the next standout graduate from their Elite Development Squad.
