Manchester United are poised to pursue Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat following the successful acquisition of Andre Onana.
Onana recently completed his medical examination and reportedly inked a lucrative five-year contract with the Red Devils worth €134,000-a-week.
The focus now shifts to securing a skilled midfielder, as per reports from Rai Sport. Man United aim to finalise the signing of Amrabat in the coming days.
The Moroccan has expressed his desire to leave Fiorentina, though the Italian outfit are reluctant to part with him for anything less than €30 million.
United had previously made a modest transfer bid for Amrabat, but it seems they are now ready to meet Fiorentina’s demands for the 26-year-old.
A significant factor in this potential deal is Amrabat’s close relationship with manager Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman previously granted him his senior club debut during their time at Utrecht.
Assuming an agreement can be reached with the Serie A club regarding the transfer fee, personal terms with Amrabat are expected to be a straightforward matter for Manchester United.
