Napoli lining up move for Alejandro Garnacho
Napoli have reportedly submitted an opening bid of £38m, including add-ons, for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, according to transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla.
The Serie A club are preparing for the imminent departure of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is expected to join Paris Saint-Germain in the coming days.
Antonio Conte, Napoli’s manager, has identified Garnacho as a prime replacement for the Georgian winger. Despite the interest, Manchester United are unwilling to part ways with the Argentine talent for the proposed amount and are holding out for a fee closer to £60m.
Garnacho played a prominent role in United’s FA Cup third-round match against Arsenal yesterday, assisting Bruno Fernandes’ goal to open the scoring. However, his overall performance as an attacking midfielder was underwhelming, which could influence United’s decision-making.
Should Garnacho leave in the winter transfer window, United will likely seek a replacement to bolster their attacking options. With Napoli eager to secure a successor for Kvaratskhelia, this transfer saga could intensify as the window progresses.
