Newcastle United are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Tino Livramento from Southampton.
The Magpies are set to kick off their summer transfer activity by acquiring Sandro Tonali from AC Milan. While the club is prepared to spend €70m (£60.2m) on Tonali, they are also on the lookout for cost-effective deals due to concerns over Financial Fair Play regulations.
As a result, they have been exploring recently-relegated clubs for potential bargains, leading them to Livramento. Negotiations are ongoing between Newcastle and Southampton, although both clubs have yet to agree on a valuation.
The Saints are hoping to receive around £30m, while the Magpies are aiming to pay half that amount. Newcastle United have even proposed a deal involving cash and Ryan Fraser, who is set to leave the club this summer.
Livramento, who joined Southampton from Chelsea in 2021, has made 34 appearances for the Saints, contributing one goal and two assists.
Other Southampton players, including James Ward-Prowse, Kyle Walker-Peters, Armel Bella-Kotchap, and Romeo Lavia, are also linked with potential summer exits following the team’s relegation to the Championship.
