Manchester United centre back Rio Ferdinand believes that the England team have less chance of winning the World Cup in Brazil.
Ferdinand, who announced his international retirement in 2013 has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in Premier League.
“It is so intense, the intensity is so much higher. There is not a spread of games over a few days like the Premier League,” said Ferdinand.
“We have an eye on the next tournament. This tournament with the players we have, we cannot expect to win. Quarterfinals for this young bunch of players would be a good step.”
However, the 25-year-old believes that England star striker Wayne Rooney will perform much better in Brazil 2014 than the previous World Cups.
