Tottenham in talks for Ben Godfrey move
Tottenham Hotspur reportedly remain undeterred in their efforts to sign Atalanta centre-back Ben Godfrey.
The 26-year-old defender has endured a challenging stint in Serie A, playing less than 100 minutes across all competitions since his summer move from Everton.
Godfrey’s struggles at Atalanta have done little to diminish his market value, with Spurs among the clubs considering a move for the former Norwich City and Everton centre-back. Injuries to Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Ben Davies have left Tottenham with limited options at the heart of defence, forcing them to rely heavily on Radu Dragusin. This precarious situation has made securing defensive cover a top priority for manager Ange Postecoglou.
A loan deal for Godfrey could be a smart short-term solution, offering the player a chance to revive his career while addressing Tottenham’s immediate defensive woes.
With reports suggesting initial contact has been made, it remains to be seen whether Atalanta will be willing to part ways with the Englishman.
